Aundrae Russell Biography

Aundrae Russell is the host of "Spread the Word", the Stellar Award winning radio show on the legendary 102.3 KJLH in Los Angeles.

During his career he has worked as a Television Sportscaster and News Anchor, Radio Programmer, and D.J. He has been selected as Radio Program Director of the Year, Gospel DJ of the Year, Radio Executive of the Year, and most recently, one of the 100 Most Influential African Americans. He served as the half time voice and Music Coordinator for the Los Angeles Lakers for nine years, winning three NBA Championship rings. Also an accomplished writer, he has written for various magazines and newspapers across the country. During his career, Aundrae has interviewed renowned celebrities such as Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Tyler Perry and NBA legends Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant to name a few.

Aundrae has hosted concerts for Patti LaBelle, Kem, Earth, Wind & Fire, Charlie Wilson, New Edition, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Cameo, Keith Sweat, The Whispers, Poncho Sanchez, Tank, Kirk Whalum, Jonathan Butler, The O'Jays, and R. Kelly.

He has also served as Master of Ceremony for notable gospel artists such as Shirley Caesar, Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp, Hezekiah Walker, Richard Smallwood, Donald Lawrence, Mary Mary, Deitrick Haddon, Mali Music, Israel Houghton, Karen Clark Sheard, Kierra Sheard, Dorinda Clark Cole, Fred Hammond, Yolanda Adams, John P. Kee, The Winans Family, Donnie McClurkin, The Williams Brothers, and many local artists and choirs.

Devoted to making a difference in the community, he speaks at Career Day events and special programs at schools throughout Southern California. He is also the CEO of Stevie Wonder's "We are You Foundation" – a non-profit organization created to assist underprivileged children.
